Hearing Loss
Alternative Treatment for Hearing Loss
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an alternative and effective treatment for Hearing Loss, including Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (ISSHL). Hearing loss of any kind is an urgent situation that needs to be treated as close to onset as possible. Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (ISSHL) is an urgent situation characterized by an acute onset o hearing loss. It may occur in an instant or happen over several days. The suspected causes of this are viral infections, cochlear artery occlusion, rupture of the intracochlear membranes, and biochemical alterations. The sooner you see medical treatment, the better the outcome. Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy is a very effective treatment for hearing loss, especially if used in conjunction with steroids from an ENT physician.
Our Approach to Hearing Loss
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or HBOT, is a specialized form of medical treatment administered by delivering 100% pure oxygen to the body through increased atmospheric pressure greater than 1.3 ATA in an enclosed hard chamber.
At pressures greater than normal, the body can incorporate more oxygen into blood cells, blood plasma, cerebral-spinal fluid, and other bodily fluids. The increased oxygen absorption experienced during Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy significantly enhances the body’s ability to aid in its healing.
Nerurofeedback Therapy
Neurofeedback allows us to retrain the brain to achieve optimal efficiency. With a qEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram), a device that looks like a swimming cap, we are able to see inside the brain to measure your brain waves.
Using state-of-the-art equipment, we are then able to train your brain by presenting it with a view of its activity. It’s like giving the brain a mirror to see when it is operating at an optimal cognitive balance and when it deviates from that balance.
Neurofeedback training helps you get “in the zone” and is used by many athletes. It also has many therapeutic benefits.
