Chronic Pain & Inflammation
Alternative Treatment for Chronic Pain & Inflammation
Chronic Pain & Inflammation
According to the CDC, it is estimated that 20.4% of adults in the United States have chronic pain and 8% of high-impact chronic pain. Chronic pain is a prevalent reason that adults seek care for. Chronic pain is defined by having pain most days to every day for six months. When your immune system is activated, inflammatory cells are sent out to attack bacteria or heal damaged tissue. This is usually in response to an illness or injury and is temporary during the healing process. When your body sends out inflammatory cells even after the injury or cause is resolved, this is called chronic inflammation. Causes of chronic inflammation can include: diet, obesity, physical inactivity, chronic infections, gut dysbiosis, chronic stress, and poor sleep, Environmental factors also play a role in chronic inflammation such as exposure to environmental chemicals, pathogens, and radiation.

Our Approach to Chronic Pain & Inflammation
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy decreases inflammation, oxygenates the entire body, stimulates the growth of new healthy blood vessels, and releases stem cells, up to 800% more after twenty sessions. It also strengthens the immune system, supports all the organs, and heals and repairs the lining of the gut that can be damaged due to inflammation.
Physical Therapy
These sessions focus on retraining the body and brain from a neurological standpoint compared to the traditional muscular approach. Patients are trained to use muscles correctly rather than compensating for muscle groups that are not functioning properly. Each session is one-on-one and can work to eliminate pain, retrain the body, and recover from illnesses, injuries, or trauma.
QEEG & Neurofeedback Therapy (NFB)
A Quantitative EEG shows us electrical activity of the brain. We will be able to see if inflammation is present, if there are any areas of hyper- or hypoactivity, and any areas of disconnect. Using this information, we can focus on the area(s) of the brain most affected and bring those areas back into balance using Neurofeedback Therapy. Research has shown that Neurofeedback Therapy improves depression, even depression that has been resistant to medication, and decreases anxiety.
